Experienced Bookkeeper

Our busy Bookkeeping department provides high quality, value for money services to clients. The department regularly deals with a high volume of data for a wide range of clients. This role is suitable for an individual that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, with a minimum of two years’ experience, preferably working in an accountancy practice.

Responsibilities include:

  • Software packages – Xero, Sage, Quickbooks
  • Bank entries (manual and via Bank feeds) and reconciliations
  • Sales & Purchase ledger invoice entry, matching and Debtor & Creditor account reconciliations
  • Cash transactions and reconciliations
  • Journal entries
  • EC Sales lists
  • Liaise with clients to resolves queries and obtained approval for online submission
  • New VAT applications and set up approved schemes through Agent online portal
  • Changes to VAT clients details on HMRC portal (QE dates, address, bank)
  • Changes to VAT schemes and VAT De-registrations
  • CIS Returns
  • Dealing with financial paperwork and filing
  • Preparation and completion of VAT Returns
  • Knowledge of VAT schemes: Standard, Accrual or Cash basis, Flat Rate, Partial Exemption

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
  • Good computer skills (Specifically Xero, Sage, Quickbooks, Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Keep client matters strictly confidential
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing results as needed, within designated time-frame
  • Prepare appropriate schedules and ad-hoc reports as requested by Clients and Partners
  • Work accurately and quickly with an eye for detail
  • Ability to work to deadlines
